March 30th, 2006I’m grateful to a reader, Neville, for explaining to me some of the thinking behind overhead cables (see “Crossed Wires”, March 25th) and for providing a link to this analysis of why Americans excel at certain things, like making software and movies, and not at others, such as making cars and cities.
