A tangled web
January 27th, 2006
Once I had overcome my initial reluctance to start blogging — how self-indulgent, how presumptious to assume anyone would want to read it… how positively brazen and un-English in other words — I have slowly come to to discover that I am but a mere pip-squeak among the millions of vocal bloggers out there in cyberspace.
I even attended an eye-opening “bloggers’ dinner” last night. An eminent techie and blogger of my husband’s acquaintance posted a date, time and details of a Berkeley restaurant at which to convene. Lo and behold, a few days later around 40 bloggers, many of whom had never met before, met for Himalayan nibbles, chat and networking.
Which, in turn, led to an invitation for yours truly to attend a convivial lunch today with a group of networking Californian women.
Suffice to say I am discovering just what the “net” in internet can mean.
Here are a few of the blogs I enjoy visiting at the moment:
BibliOdyssey
Ghost World
Bourgeois Wife
Davos Newbies
The Mommy Brain
I am NOT a soccer mom (who said I was remotely original?)
Bread and Circuses
